So I went on MySpace the other day.
And by "the other day" I mean like two minutes ago.
I used to have a lot of mental baggage associated with MySpace. A lot of things went wrong when I started using it. I can't blame MySpace for any of that of course. I can only blame it for being ugly and stupid (although it doesn't look as ugly as it used to, I'll admit.).
The last time I was on was April, but that was just for a quick check up to see if I remembered my password. I spent a few minutes this time around checking up on people I used to know. It was a curious experience. What surprised me wasn't what people were up to nowadays (nothing) or who was with who (a couple interesting discoveries involving a friend's girlfriend that cheated on and left him years ago for another one of my friends only to, apparently, get back together with the first friend). What surprised me was how little I cared.
Maybe it was the past summer's events that have changed me. Maybe it's because nobody on MySpace has seemed to have changed at all. Either way I just don't care anymore. Plenty of people say that "they don't care" when really, they just don't want to talk about it. But I really don't. I think I can finally let the past be completely the past.
Next chapter starts 2009 and onward...
